The Gunn Report just named Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam and Portland as the two most awarded agencies in the world in 2011. Congratulations to Eric Quennoy, Executive Creative Director of W+K Amsterdam whose campaigns “Write the future” for Nike and “The entrance” for Heineken were ranked as the top campaigns last year. Eric Quennoy chaired the Film & Print Jury of the latest Cristal Festival in Crans Montana last December.

Increase of the attendance!

The 11th edition of the Cristal Festival that was held from 7 to 11 December in Crans Montana increased its attendance. “The number of delegates has raised by 9% with more than 1000 delegates”, says Christian Cappe, CEO of the Cristal Festival. “This rise made us open a new conference room to welcome the keynote speakers, a new auditorium for the awards ceremonies and 4 special trains (instead of 2 last year) were ordered. The increase is also due to the development of the Brand Entertainment, the Photography & Illustration Professional Meetings, the strong attendance of the advertisers and the quality of the conferences, with the closing conference of Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia”.

Every year, the Cristal Festival is pleased to welcome one of the European country as a Guest of Honor. This year the Cristal Festival has the pleasure to honor Russian advertising agencies and announces the Year of Russia during the Festival.

We are glad to showcase some of the best Russian creative Directors and present you the “Special Russia” programme:
• The broadcasting of the best Russian campaigns on the festival’s exclusive extranet that will be available at the festival’s bar
• The presentation of Russian best creative campaigns during the Forum of Creative Freedom day on Saturday 10 December.
• The announcement of the Russian Grand Cristal (best mark among all entries from Russia)
• The Russian Ranking will showcase the best Russian agencies, based on the marks given during the long list from all the juries.

We are also glad to welcome a strong representation of Russian media partners in the Journalists Jury (Adme.ru / Coloribus.com), Russian agencies and advertisers as Members of Jury (Igor Kirikchi, BBDO Russia Group / Aleksey Fadeev, Depot WPF / Irina Vassenina, Progression Group & Kira Laskari, Arc Russia).

We hope that this initiative will help to reinforce ties between Russia and Western Europe and will highlight Russian creativity on the international advertising scene!
